Every engagement starts with the question the number is for: a probate inventory, a loan, an insurance policy, a sale, a dispute. That decides the scope and the document. We identify the vehicle and verify its specification, review condition from an inspection and photographs, and research comparable sales, favoring completed sales over asking prices.
The report shows the comparables used, how each one differs from your vehicle, and the reasoning behind the final figure. If a point could not be verified, the report says so instead of hiding it. The finished document is signed and delivered as a PDF.
Independence, in practice
Veride is an independent appraisal firm. Our sister company, PCAP Motors LLC, is a licensed Massachusetts dealer that handles consignment and liquidation. To keep the two separate, Veride does not appraise any vehicle PCAP buys, sells or consigns, and we never take a fee that depends on the value we report. Our fee is flat and set before we start.
That rule exists so a court, a lender, an insurer or a beneficiary can rely on the number without wondering who benefits from it.
Who we work for
Probate and estate attorneys, executors and trust officers use us for date-of-death and inventory values. Lenders, credit unions and wealth managers use us when collateral is rare, modified or hard to price. Insurers and agreed-value programs use us to set and update coverage values, and individual owners use us for sales, disputes, diminished value and personal records.
