Appraising a 2022 Land Rover Defender 110 V8

A low-production V8 trim on a still-new platform makes this one of the more interesting appraisals we see.

A niche trim within a new platform

The supercharged V8 Defender was a limited-production performance halo trim, sitting well above the four- and six-cylinder Defenders that make up most of the model line. That scarcity matters for appraisal work: there simply isn’t a deep pool of V8-specific comparable sales the way there is for the standard Defender 110.

We see this vehicle most often for lease-end buyout valuations, financing appraisals, and post-accident diminished-value claims — all cases where a generic "Defender" value from a pricing guide won’t hold up to scrutiny.

What we verify

Because the platform is still new, cosmetic and mechanical condition matter less here than trim verification, options, and mileage relative to a genuinely thin comparable set. We also confirm software/recall history, since early Defender production saw a number of service bulletins.
